FanfareSVT is comprised of three free-standing .NET Windows applications: FanfareSVT Test Case Workbench, FanfareSVT Testbed Workbench, and FanfareSVT Device Workbench. Together, these three applications allow test developers, test automation engineers, and automation infrastructure engineers to rapidly develop and maintain complex, automated test cases.
Test Case Workbench has been designed to improve the working lives of both test developers and test automation engineers without changing their current approach to testing. It is easy to use and does not require any prior knowledge of scripting languages.
First-time users of Test Case Workbench are able to get up and running quickly, producing their first test cases within hours of installing FanfareSVT. Advanced users quickly discover powerful features that assist with test case automation, including test case parameters, command field replacements, conditional programming constructs, and response maps.

The FanfareSVT Testbed Workbench allows users to define and maintain complex testbeds involving multiple devices. Examples of common devices include the customer’s product under test, commercial test equipment (Ixia, for example), and other support equipment (a Linux server, for example).
Testbed-specific information such as device addresses and credentials are maintained separately in a testbed file. This file is similar to a config file used in traditional scripting. FanfareSVT uses testbed files to ensure that test cases can be executed on different testbeds that contain a compatible set of devices.
Device Workbench allows users to maintain device-specific information separately from test cases, making test cases portable and maintainable across different product variants and different system software versions.
